How our conference is organized:
All presentations are general sessions for the entire audience. Presentations offer the key “must know” information on the most relevant topics in transition planning. There are no break-out sessions.
Many presentations will be followed by a panel of experts representing local services providers, agencies and individuals. We call this making the “connection to the community,” to put ideas into action. The audience will become familiar with how the service systems work, and learn about a variety of agencies and providers in our area. This paves the path for follow-up after the conference, if desired, for more information, individual questions, personal consultations or application/ enrollment in programs.
This is a “green” conference; printed material will be kept to a minimum. No handouts or powerpoint slides will be provided at the conference. Handouts and powerpoint presentations and other conference material will be made available to paid attendees in three ways:
- Powerpoint slides and handouts for all sessions will be emailed to paid attendees at least two weeks in advance of the conference. Those who wish to do so can print them out and bring them to the conference for personal use.
- All paid attendees will receive the powerpoint slides and handouts from the conference sessions on a flash drive for personal use at the conference. The flash drive also includes a huge offering of other valuable materials on all conference topics. Thanks to Easter Seals for providing the flash drives!
- All paid attendees will receive a free copy of the book, Transition to Adult Living: A Resource and Information Guide, courtesy of the California Department of Education.
CEUs are available FREE for LMFTs and LCSWs. More information will follow.
